Trims and Powertrains

Hyundai offers three trim packages for the debuting Palisade Hybrid: SEL Premium, Limited, and Calligraphy. A turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is paired with a hybrid electric motor and lithium-ion battery to form the powerplant. The system produces a combined 329 horsepower, which is sent to the default front-wheel drivetrain (FWD). HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The Palisade Hybrid’s EPA-estimated fuel economy is 33 mpg in city driving and 35 mpg on the highway for the SEL Premium with FWD. AWD will change the ratings to 29 mpg around town and 30 mpg on the open road for all trims. The Limited and Calligraphy with AWD are rated to achieve 31 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. When it’s properly equipped, the Palisade Hybrid can tow up to 4,000 pounds. When both rear rows are folded down, the cargo space maxes out at 86.7 cubic feet. Behind the second row, capacity is 46.3 cubic feet; with all rows up, it’s 19.1 cubic feet.

Standard Features

The SEL Premium starts with seven-passenger seating via heated and ventilated front seats with eight-way power controls, heated and ventilated second-row captain's chairs, and a third-row bench for three (a second-row bench, which increases capacity to eight, is optional). This base trim is well outfitted with H-Tex leatherette upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a power sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear door sunshades, LED cabin lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless device charging, six USB-C ports (two per row), driver's-side memory, tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. Its exterior highlights are LED lighting with automatic headlamps, proximity keyless entry, heated power side mirrors (with power-folding and auto-dimming), roof rails, rear privacy glass, sound-reducing front door glass, a digital key, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Limited adds a dual-panel sunroof, leather upholstery, heated power-folding third-row seats, power second-row sliding seats (for third-row access), trim-specific exterior accents, sound-reducing rear-door glass, a 115-volt outlet, and 20-inch wheels. The Calligraphy expands on that list with Nappa leather upholstery, a massaging driver's seat, front-seat leg cushion extensions, relaxation mode for the front seats, power second-row captain's chairs with relaxation mode, a head-up display, integrated front and rear dashcams, a digital rearview mirror, trim-specific exterior treatments, UV sterilization lighting in the center console, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and 21-inch wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Hyundai’s SmartSense bundle of sophisticated driver-assistance technology is standard on all trims. It consists of forward collision-avoidance assist (with car/pedestrian/cyclist detection and junction-turning/direct-oncoming vehicle assist), lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, highway driving assist, and adaptive cruise control. Additional standard driver aids include a blind-spot view monitor, a surround-view monitor, reverse automatic braking, forward attention warning, driver attention warning, rear occupant alert, safe exit assist, and parking sensors (front/rear/side).

The Calligraphy is upgraded with Remote Smart Parking Assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, and an upgraded version of forward collision-avoidance assist with evasive steering assist. Safety is supported on all trims with an array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control and control, hill start assist control, downhill brake control (AWD only), and a rearview monitor with parking guidance.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is enhanced with integrated navigation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, access to the Bluelink Connected Car System, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The base audio system in the SEL Premium gets upgraded to a 14-speaker Bose setup in the Limited and Calligraphy.
