2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Hero

The Tucson has long been Hyundai’s top seller, and it's easy to see why. With its contemporary design, clear versatility, and abundance of desirable features, the Tucson appeals to buyers in the market for a vehicle that has a little of everything. To truly experience this crossover in all its glory, though, consider the Hybrid model, which blends the most appreciated attributes of the gas-only version with the advantages of eco-friendly driving. It’s an ideal choice for those looking to reduce their environmental impact without making any compromises, as it gets the same array of standard driving aids, advanced technology, upscale amenities, and generous passenger and cargo space as the conventional Tucson.

Hyundai has given the 2025 Tucson Hybrid a refreshed look defined by updated front and rear bumpers, a revised grille, redesigned lighting elements, and new alloy wheel choices. The cabin has been revamped as well, with the highlights being a modernized center stack with physical controls for easier use, an updated steering wheel, and unique door panel accents. A curved panoramic digital interface with dual 12.3-inch displays is available. Hyundai has also added thoughtful touches such as a new dashboard tray above the glovebox, a more conveniently positioned wireless charging pad, and standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Beyond that, the updated 47.7-kW battery boosts the total system output from 226 to 231 horsepower, while the revolutionary Baby Mode softens the throttle response to avoid disturbing sleeping children.

Trims, Powertrain, and Performance

The ’25 Tucson Hybrid lineup is made up of four trims: Blue, SEL Convenience, N Line, and Limited. Under the hood, all of them have a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor; their combined output is 231 hp and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drivetrain complete the mechanical picture.

Fuel efficiency is, of course, this model’s main draw. The base Blue achieves an EPA-estimated 38 mpg in both city and highway driving, while the other trims return a noteworthy 35 mpg. The 2025 Tucson Hybrid can even do some towing (up to 2,000 pounds), making it a practical choice for light hauling needs.

Trim-Specific Highlights

The entry-level Blue provides a solid mix of essential and advanced features. Its more conventional offerings include cloth upholstery, a 4.2-inch LCD gauge cluster, a 60/40-split rear seat with a folding armrest and cupholders, four USB ports (two Type-C up front), and a dual-level cargo floor. Beyond that, you’ll find more enticing amenities like heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a hands-free liftgate, LED headlights, heated side mirrors, and roof rails.

The popular SEL Convenience trim adds leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, 64-color ambient interior lighting, and turn-signal indicators on the side mirrors. The sporty N Line stands out with black exterior elements, a black interior with red accents, seats upholstered in a combination of leather and cloth, alloy pedals and scuff plates, distinctive wheels, a single twin-tip exhaust, and N Line-specific design elements, including a rear spoiler and special front fascia.

At the top of the range, the Limited takes luxury to the next level, building on the SEL Convenience’s equipment with leather upholstery, a fingerprint authentication system, ventilated front seats with position memory for the driver and power adjustability for the passenger, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12-inch head-up display, a HomeLink universal remote, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and projector-type LED headlights.

Safety and Driving Assistance Tech

Hyundai’s SmartSense safety suite is standard across all trims, equipping every Tucson Hybrid with these technologies: forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection), blind-spot collision warning, driver attention warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. The SEL Convenience and above add forward attention warning, highway driving assist, and enhanced navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control. The Limited is the most extensively protected, boasting a surround-view camera, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, and front, side, and rear parking sensors.

Connectivity and Entertainment

The Blue’s infotainment system is housed within a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, a basic multi-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Added at the SEL Convenience level are onboard navigation, voice recognition, and Hyundai Pay for convenient in-car purchases at participating merchants. The N Line and Limited treat their occupants to a more exhilarating audio experience with a cutting-edge Bose sound system.
