SANTA FE Hybrid

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Hero

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid may not be classified as a luxury SUV, but its wealth of standard and available amenities makes a compelling case. In fact, multiple reviews from respected automotive outlets have even compared its ruggedly handsome exterior to the iconic (and considerably higher-priced) Land Rover. Its slate of entry-level features deserves a nod: even the lowest Santa Fe Hybrid trim has a hands-free liftgate, heated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch color touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, and a dozen SmartSense driver-assist technologies.

Besides providing increased fuel efficiency thanks to its gas-electric powertrain, the 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid accommodates a crowd and their belongings. It fits up to seven passengers in comfort, with fold-flat second- and third-row seats for those times when you need to carry more cargo than people. Some of Hyundai’s thoughtful touches include an underfloor storage tray and armrests with multi-level storage and bi-directional openings. Since it was redesigned for the previous model year, the Santa Fe Hybrid goes mostly unchanged for 2025 except for a new paint color called Atlantis Blue. If you’re interested in the gasoline-only 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe, please see our separate overview for that model.

Trims, Powertrain, and Performance

The ‘25 Santa Fe Hybrid lineup consists of trims called SE, Limited, and Calligraphy. Each of them has a 44.2-kW electric motor, a 270V lithium-ion battery, and a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This hybrid powertrain can produce up to 231 total horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive is the default drivetrain; it returns an EPA-estimated 36 mpg city/35 mpg highway. All-wheel drive is available across the lineup, achieving estimated fuel economy ratings of 35 mpg city/34 mpg highway. Every trim is outfitted with trailer pre-wiring connections and trailer sway control, with a top towing capacity of 2,000 pounds (with trailer brakes).

Standard Equipment

The SEL has a 60/40 split second-row bench seat with power release and a 50/50 split third row seating that allow it to accommodate up to seven passengers. Its other interior features include synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic temperature control with second- and third-row HVAC vents, a wireless device charge pad, a 4.2-inch color multi-information display, four USB ports, and two 12-volt power outlets (front/cargo area). On the exterior, it has roof rails, a hands-free smart liftgate, LED lighting (automatic headlights and headlight accents/daytime running lights/taillights), heated side-view mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, Proximity Key entry, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Limited adds leather upholstery, a mélange headliner, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a six-way power passenger seat, memory settings for the driver, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, a dual-pane sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, power-folding heated side-view mirrors, ambient interior lighting, a UV-C sanitizer compartment above the glovebox, rear-side window sunshades, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two USB ports in the third row, and a 110-volt power outlet. But the true luxury is found in the Calligraphy, which gets Nappa leather upholstery, an eco-suede microfiber headliner, “relaxation” seats for the driver and front passenger, second-row power-folding and power-reclining captain’s chairs (resulting in a total seating capacity of six), wireless charging for two devices, expanded ambient cabin lighting, a 12-inch head-up display, and a camera-based rearview mirror. The exterior badging is black, and the 20-inch alloy wheels also get a dark finish. An exterior assist handle on the C-pillar allows easy access to the roof.

Advanced Safety Features

Every ‘25 Santa Fe Hybrid is equipped with a host of Hyundai SmartSense advanced safety and convenience technologies. The standard list consists of high beam assist, driver attention warning, smart cruise control with stop and go, blind-spot collision warning, lane following and lane keeping assist, parking distance warning (forward/reverse), rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, advanced rear occupant alert, safe exit assist, forward attention warning, and forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection. The Limited and Calligraphy also get a surround-view monitor and a blind-spot view monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, navigation-based smart cruise control with curve control, and highway driving assist; side detection capability is also added to the parking distance warning feature. Only the Calligraphy has blind-spot collision-avoidance assist and upgrades to Highway Driving Assist 2 and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 with Lane Change Oncoming, Lane Change Side Detection, and Evasive Steering Assist.

Multimedia and Connectivity

At the center of every ‘25 Santa Fe Hybrid’s dash is a 12.3-inch color touchscreen infotainment system that can also be controlled using dynamic voice recognition. The standard components are wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD Radio, and SiriusXM. Bluelink+ smartphone apps are available on all grades, and vehicle software remains current thanks to over-the-air updating. All trims are set up with Rear Seat Quiet Mode, a feature that can mute the rear speakers for second- and third-row passengers with reduced volume up front. The two higher trims are upgraded with onboard navigation, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, and access to Hyundai Pay and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
