2020 Hyundai Accent for Sale in Hyannis, MA
The Hyundai Accent is one of the most exciting small sedans on the market. For the 2020 model year, this subcompact four-door gets even better fuel economy, thanks to an engine change and an upgraded continuously variable transmission. This fifth-generation Accent boasts an unexpectedly spacious and comfortable interior for its size. That cabin is also exceptionally quiet compared to others in the segment, and it receives plenty of multimedia features to keep drives entertaining for up to five passengers. Overall, the Accent is an extraordinary value, with nice features at quite an affordable price.
Pricing and Warranty
The Accent starts off its pricing at $15,195, making it one of the least expensive 2020 vehicles out there. Upgrading to the top-tier Limited trim is also quite reasonable, as its MSRP is still under $20K ($19,300). Since the Accent is a Hyundai, it also comes with America’s Best Warranty: Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty is decidedly superior to the coverage offered by competitors such as Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Hyundai also includes a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty, 12-month/12,000-mile replacement parts and accessories limited warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance coverage.
Mechanical Features and Fuel Economy
The 2020 Accent is now powered by Hyundai’s 1.6-liter 120 hp naturally aspirated four-cylinder Smartstream engine, an engineering marvel with improved combustion and heat management technology for increased miles per gallon and decreased emissions. It gets paired with the CVT, which the automaker calls the Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission (the base trim comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission but is eligible for the CVT). Previous model years came with a traditional automatic transmission, so the CVT is a welcome replacement for the improved fuel economy that it delivers with the help of the efficient engine. Accents equipped with the CVT deliver an EPA-estimated 33 mpg city/41 mpg highway, while base models with the 6-speed manual transmission trail closely with an EPA-rated 29 mpg city/39 mpg highway. These figures represent up to 5 mpg more than the 2019 Accent achieved.
This model year’s Accent is available in the following three trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited. The base trim starts off with a 60/40-split folding rear seat, rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, 5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, a four-speaker audio system, and USB and auxiliary inputs. The SEL upgrades to alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, a telescoping steering wheel, a 7-inch infotainment display touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The top-of-the-line Limited adds heated front seats, a sunroof, and basic advanced safety features.
Like all Hyundai vehicles, the Accent takes pride in its remarkable safety. It has been intelligently designed to protect its occupants in the event of a collision with safety features like an advanced airbag system and front and rear crumple zones. Other safety features include a driver’s blind spot mirror (on the SEL and Limited) and forward collision-avoidance assist on the Limited trim.
