Hyundai All-Wheel Drive and HTRAC Technology Give You Added Confidence for Winter Driving

Who knows what winter will bring this year. We could be spared, relatively, with lighter snow falls and fewer subzero temperatures icing our roads over. Or, as everyone near our Hyannis, MA Hyundai dealership serving Barnstable, Plymouth, and Bourne should always be prepared for, we could be hammered by storm after storm, with little time for reprieve or rest. With preparedness on your mind, you’ll want to choose a new Hyundai with all-wheel drive or HTRAC technology, which will help you traverse the iciest, snowiest and roughest road conditions with ease. Visit us at our Hyundai dealership serving Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard right now and we’ll go over your options for an AWD car.

If you’re on the road all year round, and even head off of the beaten path regularly, you’ll want one of our new Hyundai models that’s equipped with all-wheel drive. You can find this option in the new Hyundai Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport and Tucson, while the innovative HTRAC technology is offered in recent model year editions of the Hyundai, which is now its own separate brand, though still part of the Hyundai family. For a closer look at the SUVs found here on Cape Cod that you can equip with AWD, look through these current offerings:

Hyundai Models Available with AWD or HTRAC

Winter driving just became a lot easier to handle, so find your AWD equipped ride here at Balise Hyundai of Cape Cod and we’ll be sure to go over all your other options.

Hyundai Santa Fe AWD

Available with Active Cornering Control AWD, the Santa Fe gives you improved traction while enhancing your ability to take corners. This is done by transferring engine torque to the rear wheels and applying braking force to the inside rear wheel. This is particularly helpful in tough weather conditions.

Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD

The smaller option, the Santa Fe Sport is also available with Active Cornering Control AWD, which is a great feature to have in an easily handled SUV. As always, maintain your safe driving practices no matter what level of capability you have, particularly when road surfaces are icy and snowy.

Hyundai Tucson AWD

The compact SUV option found here on Cape Cod, the Tucson blends the available Active Cornering Control AWD with an upgraded suspension system which leads to a smooth, quiet ride that’s also capable when things get rough out on the road.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Hyundai Models Have AWD?

  • Hyundai Tucson
  • Hyundai Santa Fe
  • Hyundai Santa Fe XL
  • Hyundai Kona
  • Hyundai Palisade

What is HTRAC?

HTRAC is an exclusive technology by Hyundai Motor that is based on AWD technology. It’s name comes from a combination of the H from Hyundai and the beginning of the word Traction to represent the technological characteristics of 4WD.

Are AWD vehicles safer?

You should always be extra cautious in slippery or snowy conditions when driving regardless of whether your vehicle is AWD, 4WD or 2WD. All-wheel drive will significantly improve your vehicles ability to gain traction in these situations and accelerate. While this is important to safe winter driving, all vehicles are at risk of slipping if you are driving recklessly, so proceed with caution even in your AWD vehicle so as not to underestimate the slipperiness of the road.

Is AWD or 4WD better?

While AWD and 4WD are often mistakenly used interchangeably, there is a difference between these systems. Four-wheel drive is optimized for severe off-road conditions, such as climbing steep hills with loose and little to no traction, fording deep rivers, and tackling boulders. These systems often come in full-time or part-time, which enables you to manually switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. 4WD is intended for serious off-road enthusiasts. The majority of drivers never come close to needing the capability that four-wheel drive systems provide over all-wheel drive.
