There are a half-dozen trim choices for the 2024 Palisade: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition. The standard middle-row bench allows for eight occupants, while the available pair of captain’s chairs will reduce capacity to seven.
All trims receive the same powertrain: a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A front-wheel drivetrain is standard, with all-wheel drive as an option. According to the EPA, FWD Palisades achieve 19 mpg in city driving and 27 mpg on the highway, while AWD versions get 19 city/25 highway. The towing capacity for this model maxes out at 5,000 pounds.
Besides the dual-zone climate control mentioned in the intro, the SE gets proximity keyless entry, push-button start, automatic LED headlights and daytime running lights, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated exterior mirrors with built-in turn-signal indicators and auto-dimming feature, a haptic-feedback steering wheel, five USB ports (four of which are Type-C), skid plates (front and rear), rear privacy glass, an underfloor storage compartment, a 12V socket, and 18-inch wheels. It seats eight with 60/40-split bench seats in both the second and third rows and has a special quiet mode for rear-seat napping.
The SEL gets a pair of captain’s chairs for the second row (although buyers can opt for the bench seat instead) and adds Digital Key, LED taillights, LED interior lighting, roof rails, puddle lamps in the door handles, a hands-free liftgate, H-Tex upholstery, heated power adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and a HomeLink universal garage door opener. Hyundai offers a slew of additional amenities through the optional Premium Package for the SEL: ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, the Driver Talk in-car PA system, a sunroof, position memory for the side mirrors and driver’s seat, rear window sunshades, two third-row USB-C ports, a 115V socket, 20-inch wheels, and some safety and infotainment additions (see the sections that follow).
The XRT starts with the SEL’s base equipment (meaning without the Premium Package added), but it gets the sunroof and rear sunshades along with a different appearance highlighted by black H-Tex upholstery, two-tone bumpers, trim-specific 20-inch wheels, and some black accents on the exterior. The Limited looks like the fully loaded SEL with the Premium Package, but it’s upgraded further with leather upholstery, a head-up display, a heated and power-folding third-row bench seat, 64-color ambient interior lighting, a dual-panel sunroof, a power thigh-extension for the driver’s seat, a mélange-design headliner, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Calligraphy ramps things up with a luxurious interior featuring Nappa leather upholstery, quilted leather door panels, an upgraded driver’s seat, a microfiber headliner, wing-out second-row headrests, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a frameless digital rearview mirror. On the exterior, it receives puddle lights in the side mirrors, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and premium rear accent lighting. The new Calligraphy Night Edition is set up the same way, but with a blacked-out exterior and black leather upholstery.
You’ll find the Hyundai SmartSense safety tech suite on all 2024 Palisade trims. The base version of this package (in the SE, SEL, and XRT) has automatic high beams, driver attention warning, navigation-based smart cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection), blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, highway driving assist, and rear parking sensors.
When the Premium Package is opted for on the SEL, its forward collision system is upgraded with lane change and evasive steering assist, plus it gets a surround-view monitor, front parking sensors, a more advanced highway driving assist system, and a blind-spot view monitor. Those technologies are all standard on the Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition. Remote Smart Parking Assist automated parking is included on the two Calligraphy trims.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard issue in the 2024 Hyundai Palisade, with all trims getting Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, high-definition radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and dynamic voice recognition. The SEL with the Premium Package gets a prime-quality Harman Kardon audio system with a dozen speakers; this comes standard in the Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night Edition as well.
