Powertrain and Performance

The latest Elantra N generates up to 276 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to its 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission (standard) or an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters (available). The manual gearbox achieves an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, while the dual clutch returns 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Front-wheel drive is standard, as is the N Grin Control System with its five individual driving modes. By engaging the N or N Custom setting, the driver can maximize the engine’s response time, rev-matching intensity, steering weight, suspension stiffness, and exhaust sound.

Reaching the highest level of performance begins with launch control, a system that provides maximum power delivery and traction for the fastest possible standing start. The variable exhaust valve system can open the valves earlier and for longer periods of time at higher RPM, helping improve both the engine’s breathing and its power output. At cruising speed, not only does the electronically controlled suspension and rear chassis brace help the sedan maintain its stability, but the N Corner Carving Differential also utilizes an electronically controlled limited-slip differential to maximize balance and traction through the sharpest turns.

Standard Equipment

Although it carries most of the DNA of the standard Elantra sedan, the 2024 N version differentiates itself with more aggressive front and rear styling, led by a matte-black grille, N unique side sill moldings, gloss-black window trim, 19-inch alloy wheels with premium Michelin tires, a matte-black rear diffuser, a wing-type spoiler, an N leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, alloy sport pedals, alloy door sill plates, and sport bucket seats with an illuminated N logo and a leather/suede combination upholstery. Some other noteworthy features for the ‘24 Elantra N include proximity key entry with push-button start, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, heated front seats, dual automatic temperature control, a power sunroof, wireless device charging, and dual USB ports in both the front and back rows.

Advanced Safety Features

In addition to a parking distance warning (forward/reverse), the ‘24 Elantra N comes with the Hyundai SmartSense. Those technologies consist of blind-spot collision warning, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, safe exit warning, and high beam assist.

Multimedia and Connectivity

The Elantra N’s infotainment system uses a 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen to manage Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and the Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition. Navigation is standard as well. Plus, features such as Bluelink+ Connected Car and Hyundai’s Digital Key 2 allow certain vehicle functions to be controlled via a compatible smartphone. A premium Bose system amplifies the multimedia audio, including HD Radio and SiriusXM satellite radio, through its eight speakers.
