New Hyundai 2022 Hyundai Kona N for Sale in Hyannis, MA
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
Horsepower is the most obvious difference between the Kona N (276) and the standard Kona (147 for the base engine and 195 for the available upgrade). The Kona N gets its driver’s attention by making 289 pounds-feet of torque as well. You don’t usually find an eight-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission in a crossover, either, but once again, this is not a routine crossover. It even has a button labeled N Grin Shift on its steering wheel that provides a 20-second power burst to inject some thrills as desired. Its counterpart, the N Power Shift button, works to reduce torque during as the transmission rises through the gears so that the wheels get all of the available power. Hyundai has also put in the N-Corner Carving Differential to counteract understeer and optimize turning speed and traction. Also standard are an electronically controlled sport suspension, an electronic slip differential, and performance brakes.
An Elevated Look and Feel
it’s no surprise that the Kona N has more daring style than the standard-issue Kona. It looks the part with a more in-your-face, confident stance, plus spoilers – including a double wing on the roof – and side skirts for aerodynamics as well as attitude. Its Pirelli P-Zero performance tires come on 19-inch wheels, and the twin pipes from the active sport exhaust let out a throaty note that you can even customize. Some other highlights of the Kona N’s outward appearance are LED headlights, heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, fender flares in body color, a black mesh grille, and roof rails (let’s not forget that it’s a utility vehicle at heart). The cabin is set up for performance as well, with bolstered seats in a blend of leather and suede, and a drive-mode selector with settings for Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and Custom. It also gets a leather-wrapped shifter knob and steering wheel, signature blue accents, ambient interior lighting, automatic climate control, and a back seat that splits 60/40 and folds flat to add rear cargo space (up to 45-plus cubic feet in total).
Advanced Safety Technologies
Driver-assist technology is abundant as well, with the Kona N getting an array of active safety features. Those are adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, high beam assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, rear occupant alert, and safe exit warning.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The digital age is apparent in the 2022 Kona N, which gets a standard 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and an infotainment touchscreen of the same size. It’s fully equipped with everything the driver and passengers could need to stay entertained and in communication with the outside world: smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), wireless phone charging, Bluetooth, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a top-end Harman Kardon sound system with eight speakers. Hyundai has even put in a lap timer and a g-force meter to track the Kona N’s performance.
